Dr. Badhe Rakesh Mohan is a Consultant surgical Oncologist. He primarily handles Solid Organ tumors.
After having completed his undergraduate and postgraduate training from the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical college of the Mumbai University, he has undertaken intensive training at the Tata Memorial Hospital at Mumbai; the premiere institute for cancer treatment. After finishing his training at Tata Memorial hospital he has done his D.N.B (Diplomate of National Board) in the field of Oncology under the able guidance of Dr.Sultan Pradhan ; an internationally acclaimed teacher in the field of Oncology, from whom he has learnt the art of “Organ preservation” in various solid organ cancers.
After having trained in Organ preservation protocols Dr.Rakesh Mohan is offering organ preservation for common cancers like Larynx cancer (Voice box cancer treatment to preserve voice), Jaw bone preservation for oral cavity cancers, Rectum cancer (whereby practicing various ways of avoiding a permanent colostomy), breast cancer (to preserve natural breast), Nephron sparing surgery for Kidney cancer etc. to name a few.
One of his main areas of interest is Gullet reconstruction for Laryngo-pharyngo-esophegeal cancers and use of LASER for treatment of Larynx and oral cavity cancers. He has been a guest speaker at various national conferences and has several publications to his credit.
He has passion for teaching and he is training next generation of doctors in the art of oncology at Somaiya Medical College and Khan Bahadur Bhaba Hospital as Hon Surgeon in the Department of Surgery.
